Northern Powergrid has given notice of planned work to provide electricity to the new housing development site on the Main Road A684 to the west of Brigadoon. New cabling is to be installed between Greenacres and the new development, with work starting on 18th November and continuing for five weeks, between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00 pm. Temporary traffic lights will installed, and there will be three-way lights in place during times when they are working across the entrance to Greenacres.
It is understood that, in addition to the work reqquired to deliver power to these new properties, Northern Powergrid is taking the opportunity to replace some of its existing assets in the area with the aim of providing "improved resilience and reliability for the electricity supplies in the Morton-on-Swale now and in the future".
